GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Currently I'm offering two depths of floater frames, to accommodate the most common panel/canvas thicknesses of 1.5" and 3/4". If you have a 1" thick canvas or panel, the construction of the frame and prices will be similar to the 3/4" product line, and I will need your measured canvas thickness, or precise depth request. Common finish options are 'Clear' or 'Unfinished'. I recommend the Clear, which is a quality oil/wax finish that seals and protects the surface from warping and aging, while maintaining the natural look and feel of the wood.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Frames sides are milled from solid red oak, and the backings from soft wood for ease of drilling and mounting, and light weight. All the wood is hand picked, for grain quality.

Common Dimensions: 

  • Outside Depth: 2"
  • Edge thickness: between 5/16" - 3/8"
  • Reveal (gap): between 3/16" - 1/4"

Canvas or Panel specific Dimensions:

For the STANDARD (~3/4") canvas:

  • Actual depth inside frame: 7/8"

For the GALLERY (~1.5") canvas or panel:

  • Actual depth inside frame: 1-5/8"

FINISH OPTIONS:

  • Clear (natural oil/wax - 1 coat)
  • Unfinished
  • Painted

If you want a Painted finish, black or white are your two options.

I always aim for exact, but for woodworking of this nature my promise for precision is: within 1/32" of expected dimensions.
